Please complete and submit via email to contact.cfpza@gmail.com.
TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP AND COST
We offer two types of membership:
-
Agency Membership: intended for municipal land use agencies such as Planing & Zoning Commissions, Zoning Boards of Appeal, Inland Wetland & Watercourses Commissions, and Historic District Commissions.
-
Individual Membership: perfect for land use attorneys and other professionals who are not affiliated with a municipal land use agency.

Agency Memberships cost $110.00 due annually in March.
Because of conflicting interests, each municipal agency must be covered by a separate membership (i.e. Planning and Zoning Commission membership does not extend to the Zoning Board of Appeals).

Individual Memberships cost $55.00 due annually in March.
BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
The CFPZA is a nonprofit dedicated to educating zoning professionals—especially individuals who volunteer to serve on their local land use board or commission. Becoming a member of the CFPZA is a cost-effective and easy way to ensure members of local land use boards and commissions meet the annual four (4) hour training requirements under Connecticut General Statute section 8-4c.

All members of the CFPZA, you will receive quarterly newsletters, as well as discounted prices on items in our store. Members of Commissions and Boards who read all four (4) of our quarterly newsletters are eligible to receive one (1) hour of training. If you are an Agency Member, newsletters are sent to the Town Hall for distribution to members of the member agency. Training certificates are available upon request.

Agency members of the CFPZA are also eligible to schedule in-person training workshops. As a courtesy, we schedule workshops during regular or special meetings of the member agencies. Complementary handbooks are included for all attendees. Topics include:
-
Affordable housing
-
Good governance
-
Planning & Zoning basics
-
Zoning Board of Appeals basics
-
Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Commission basics
-
Historic District Commission basics
-
and more!
Attendees of workshops are eligible to receive one (1) to two (2) hours of training. Training certificates will be provided after the workshop.

Agency and Individual Members are eligible for a reduced rate to attend our annual conference and dinner. The conference includes a keynote presentation on current issues in zoning law. Attendees who are members of municipal land use agencies are eligible to receive (1) one hour of training. Training certificates will be provided after the conference. Professionals with Individual Memberships looking to fulfill their Continuing Learning and Education (CLE) requirements may submit details and materials to their licensing board to see if attendance meets requirements for one CLE (1) hour.
ANNUAL DUES AND MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
Membership dues are paid each March. Dues are typically collected with the registration for our annual conference and dinner.

Failure to pay dues will result in automatic termination of membership.

Prior lapse in membership does not prevent any municpal land use agency from re-applying for membership.
